In 2016, Verizon acquired a minority stake and funded programming for its go90 service. After go90 shut down, Viacom acquired AwesomenessTV in July 2018. The studio subsequently shortened its name to Awesomeness and operated under Viacom Digital Studios, producing film and television for streaming services and youth audiences. Following the 2019 Viacom-CBS merger, it worked alongside Nickelodeon on live-action production. In October 2025, Awesomeness and its production operations were merged into Paramount Television Studios, following the formation of Paramount Skydance.
