On July 23, Conn's announced plans to close as many as 106 stores under the two brands and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in Texas. A report the next day said the retailer was winding down its nearly 600 locations, with liquidation sales expected to finish by October 31, 2024. Badcock & More continues in South Florida through a license agreement, with 10 stores reported as of 2026.
