Raise a glass to a distinctive chapter in Afghan aviation with this Bakhtar Afghan Airlines pint glass. Founded as Bakhtar Airlines in 1967, the carrier connected Kabul with domestic destinations including Herat, Bamyan, Mazar-i-Sharif, and Kunduz. Its name changed in 1985, and the Bakhtar and Ariana identities merged in 1988. A thoughtful choice for aviation enthusiasts and collectors, this design brings an uncommon airline story to everyday gatherings and display shelves.
Bakhtar Afghan Airlines was an Afghan carrier offering domestic flights. Founded in 1967 as Bakhtar Airlines, it used that name until 1985, when Pashtun governments renamed it Bakhtar Afghan Airlines. That year, it absorbed Ariana Afghan Airlines and became Afghanistan’s sole airline company. In 1988, the Ariana and Bakhtar brands merged, marking a transition in the country’s airline identity. The carrier served destinations including Kabul, its base, as well as Herat, Bamyan, Mazar-i-Sharif, Kunduz, and Jeddah. Its aircraft included the Yakovlev Yak-40 and de Havilland Twin Otter; later flights also involved Antonov An-26 aircraft. The company’s history includes a series of serious accidents between 1972 and 1987. Bakhtar Airlines was relaunched in 2020 for domestic flights, operating a single Boeing 737-500 leased from Ariana Afghan Airlines. The name therefore connects an early Afghan airline founded in the 1960s with later changes in ownership, branding, and service.

A sturdy 16oz pint glass that brings a little roadhouse spirit to everyday pours. The clear tempered glass showcases whatever you fill it with — amber beer, cold brew, or fresh juice — while a bold vintage-inspired script wraps the side for a subtle, nostalgic touch. It feels solid in the hand, resists everyday wear, and pairs easily with bar carts, kitchen counters, or a laid-back backyard table. Wash gently by hand to keep the lettering sharp and the glass crystal-clear. Built from tempered materials and assembled in the USA, this glass fits into evenings spent swapping stories, weekend morning routines, or those slow, quiet moments when a simple drink matters.
