Product Details & Size Guide
GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.
Keep a small reminder of American banking’s changing landscape close at hand with this Bank One Corporation double-sided keychain charm. The company began with First Banc Group in Ohio, grew through acquisitions, and took the Bank One name into markets across the country. Its 1998 merger with First Chicago NBD marked a major Chicago chapter before the 2004 move to JPMorgan Chase. A meaningful keepsake for collectors of corporate names and financial history.
Bank One Corporation grew from First Banc Group, formed in Ohio in 1968 as a holding company for City National Bank of Columbus. It expanded through acquisitions, adopting the Banc One Corporation name in 1979 and renaming member banks with the Bank One brand and a city or region. Changes in banking laws enabled expansion beyond Ohio, including into Indiana and Kentucky in the 1980s, followed by growth across numerous states. In 1997, Banc One acquired Dallas-based First USA, expanding its national credit card business. In 1998, Banc One merged with Chicago-based First Chicago NBD to form Bank One Corporation, moving its headquarters from Columbus to Chicago. The company was headquartered in Bank One Plaza in Chicago’s Loop. After adverse financial results, Jamie Dimon was brought in to lead the company. Bank One merged with JPMorgan Chase & Co. on July 1, 2004. Dimon soon became CEO and chairman of the combined company, which operated under the JPMorgan Chase brand. Bank One’s Phoenix ballpark, named through a 1998 agreement, became Chase Field in 2005.
