Product Details & Size Guide

GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.

Toast to the memories behind Brody Brothers Dry Goods, the family-led retailer founded by Leo Brody in Kinston in 1928. Growing from a family shoe business, Brody's became a six-store department chain serving eastern North Carolina and a familiar part of local mall life. Its later acquisitions and store transitions mark a lasting chapter in the region’s retail history. This bottle opener makes a memorable everyday bar accessory for former shoppers, North Carolina locals, and collectors who appreciate the stories behind once-familiar stores.

Brody Brothers Dry Goods Company, Inc., commonly known as Brody's, grew from a family shoe business into an upscale fashion merchandise chain serving eastern North Carolina. Hyman J. Brody began the business in Sumter, South Carolina, in the early 20th century. In 1928, his son Leo moved to Kinston, North Carolina, and founded Brody Brothers Dry Goods. Leo and six of his brothers expanded the retail operation, which acquired Cohen & Sons Clothing in 1973. By the time Proffitt's acquired Brody's in 1998, the chain had six stores in six eastern North Carolina malls, with a combined 275,000 square feet of retail space. Locations included Greenville, Rocky Mount, Kinston, Goldsboro, and New Bern. The Kinston store later became Proffitt's. In 2005, Belk acquired the Greenville, Rocky Mount, Kinston, and Goldsboro stores when Saks sold Proffitt's to Belk. The Rocky Mount location did not become a Belk because Golden East already had one; it instead became Bed Bath & Beyond and Ross Dress for Less. Brody's was formerly headquartered in Greenville.

This slim, all-metal bottle opener feels like the trusted tool you reach for when friends gather and stories start. Forged from heavy-duty stainless steel, it slides into a pocket or bartending apron without bulk, then delivers confident leverage when a cold drink needs freeing. The flat surface accepts crisp laser engraving, so names, dates, or logos stay sharp through years of use. Use it behind the home bar, at backyard tailgates, or hand one to each member of your wedding party — it’s built to take commercial-level wear while still looking clean and refined. Simple, sturdy, and ready for the next toast.
