Product Details & Size Guide
Make room for ideas inspired by a marque built on ambition and attention to detail. Brough Superior began at George Brough’s Nottingham works in 1919, where each motorcycle was assembled twice, test-ridden and personally certified. The celebrated SS100 and SS80 reflect the company’s early era, which ended when the works turned to wartime production in 1940. The name later returned to motorcycle production, with serial production of the revived marque beginning in 2016. This notebook suits enthusiasts who enjoy recording rides, collecting research or exploring motoring history.
Brough Superior motorcycles, sidecars and cars were made by George Brough at his works on Haydn Road in Nottingham, England, from 1919 to 1940. George, a racer and designer, set out to improve on the motorcycles made by his father, William E. Brough, whose Nottingham production began in 1908 and continued until 1926. Most machines were custom-built, assembled twice, test-ridden and personally certified by George. The SS100 and SS80 became prominent models; the SS100 was tested at 100 mph or more before delivery. Production ended in 1940 when the works undertook war work, including crankshafts for Rolls-Royce Merlin engines. With no suitable engines available after the war, the company was wound up. George and later Albert Wallis continued servicing the machines and making parts until 1969. The name was acquired in 2008 by Mark Upham. Following a 2013 design collaboration with Thierry Henriette, a new SS100 prototype appeared in Milan; serial production of the revived marque began in 2016. Later milestones included the Pendine Sand Racer in 2017, a centenary model in 2019, and the AMB 001, announced with Aston Martin that November.
