Central Pacific Railroad Company Cuffed Beanie
Product Details & Size Guide
Carry a piece of railroad history into cool-weather days with a cuffed beanie honoring Central Pacific Railroad. From its Sacramento beginnings, the company pushed construction through the Sierra Nevada, with Chinese immigrant workers making an essential contribution to the effort. The route crossed Donner Summit in 1868 and joined the Union Pacific at Promontory the following year. Made for rail fans, history readers, and collectors drawn to the story of a remarkable American line.
Incorporated in 1861, the Central Pacific Railroad was authorized by Congress in 1862 to build east from Sacramento, California, as part of the first transcontinental railroad. Construction began in Sacramento in 1863. From 1865, Chinese immigrant workers formed a growing part of the workforce; by 1868, about 12,000 were employed, and the railroad crossed Donner Summit. On May 10, 1869, its tracks met the Union Pacific at Promontory, Utah, linking the route toward Omaha with Sacramento. The company consolidated with several railroads in 1870, including the Western Pacific Railroad and the San Francisco and Oakland Railroad. It was leased to the Southern Pacific Railroad in 1885, reorganized as the Central Pacific Railway in 1899, and formally merged into Southern Pacific in 1959. Southern Pacific was acquired by Union Pacific in 1996, which came to control the original right-of-way. The Central Pacific’s history connects Sacramento and the Sierra Nevada with the construction, labor, and corporate transitions behind a landmark American rail route.

This cuffed beanie carries a lived-in street energy—soft, warm, and quietly bold. The low-profile embroidery sits on the cuff like a personal insignia: a small, slightly distressed logo with a touch of red that reads as both vintage and current. It slips on easily and stays put through commutes, late-night walks, and chilly market runs, adding a subtle graphic edge without shouting.
Wear it with a worn denim jacket, layered knit, or an oversized coat. It works for creatives who like to curate a look that’s casual but considered, for city cyclists who need dependable warmth, or for anyone who favors compact, tactile details. The hypoallergenic acrylic knit keeps things comfortable against the skin while the 12" cuff gives you styling flexibility—fold it high for warmth or roll it low for a slouchier silhouette. This is a small, everyday piece that quietly completes an outfit and ages into its own personality.
