Product Details & Size Guide

GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.

The Dakota, Minnesota and Eastern Railroad grew from a campaign to preserve routes that faced abandonment, beginning operations in 1986 across South Dakota and Minnesota. This Cuffed Beanie brings that Northern Plains railroad story into an everyday accessory, recalling the distinctive blue-and-yellow identity and the communities served along its freight network. From its 1995 branch additions to its later changes in ownership, DM&E remains a memorable chapter in regional rail history. A thoughtful choice for railroad fans and collectors.

The Dakota, Minnesota and Eastern Railroad (DM&E) began operations on September 5, 1986, over former Chicago and North Western lines in South Dakota and Minnesota. Its creation followed a 1983 effort to prevent abandonment of track between Pierre and Rapid City, South Dakota; an agreement announced April 24, 1986, established the new railroad, with equipment and buildings included in the purchase. In 1995, DM&E added former Chicago and North Western branches reaching Colony, Wyoming, and Crawford, Nebraska. It acquired the assets of I&M Rail Link in 2002 and renamed that operation the Iowa, Chicago and Eastern Railroad (IC&E), joining the two railroads under Cedar American Rail Holdings. Canadian Pacific announced its purchase of DM&E and affiliated companies in September 2007. After regulatory approval on September 30, 2008, Canadian Pacific assumed control on October 30. In 2014, track west of Tracy, Minnesota, was sold to Genesee & Wyoming and became the Rapid City, Pierre and Eastern Railroad. The former DM&E connected communities across the Northern Plains and served agricultural, industrial, and other freight traffic.

This cuffed beanie carries a lived-in street energy—soft, warm, and quietly bold. The low-profile embroidery sits on the cuff like a personal insignia: a small, slightly distressed logo with a touch of red that reads as both vintage and current. It slips on easily and stays put through commutes, late-night walks, and chilly market runs, adding a subtle graphic edge without shouting.

Wear it with a worn denim jacket, layered knit, or an oversized coat. It works for creatives who like to curate a look that’s casual but considered, for city cyclists who need dependable warmth, or for anyone who favors compact, tactile details. The hypoallergenic acrylic knit keeps things comfortable against the skin while the 12" cuff gives you styling flexibility—fold it high for warmth or roll it low for a slouchier silhouette. This is a small, everyday piece that quietly completes an outfit and ages into its own personality.
