Product Details & Size Guide
For young enthusiasts discovering the cars and stories that shaped motoring, Datsun offers plenty to explore. The name connects early DAT-derived cars with Nissan’s postwar passenger-car production and the 110 saloon of 1955. Later, the Bluebird, 510, Fairlady roadsters and Z coupés became recognizable favorites in export markets. This youth hoodie or sweatshirt celebrates that broad history in a relaxed everyday choice for school days, family outings and car gatherings, with a story that reaches from Japan to drivers around the world.
Datsun’s roots reach back to the DAT car, built in Tokyo in 1914. After DAT Motors merged with Osaka’s Jitsuyo Jidosha in 1926, the company developed small cars called Datson in 1931; after Nissan took control of DAT in 1934, the name became Datsun. Nissan resumed passenger-car production in 1947, and Datsun introduced its own design, the 110 saloon, in 1955. From 1958 to 1986, Nissan used Datsun for exported vehicles. The brand gained recognition through models such as the Bluebird, 510, Fairlady roadsters and Z coupés. Datsun entered the United States in 1958 and the United Kingdom in 1968. Nissan announced a worldwide transition to its corporate name in 1981, with the rebranding carried out from 1982 to 1984 and Datsun badges disappearing from some export markets by 1986. In 2013, Nissan revived Datsun as a low-cost brand for emerging markets, launching the Go in India. Production ended in Indonesia and Russia in 2020, and Nissan announced the end of production in India in 2022.
