Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad Sticky Post-it Note Pad
Product Details & Size Guide
Keep reminders close with a note pad inspired by the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad. Its history links northeastern Pennsylvania coal country with Scranton, Hoboken and Buffalo, tracing a 395-mile system built through expansion, new terminals and cut-off lines. This practical desk companion is a fitting choice for railroad enthusiasts, collectors and history-minded planners. From the 1911 Lackawanna Cut-Off to the 1960 merger with the Erie Railroad, the company’s story offers a memorable connection to the routes and communities that shaped the region.
Incorporated in Pennsylvania on March 11, 1853, through the consolidation of the Lackawanna and Western Railroad and the Delaware and Cobb’s Gap Railroad, the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad grew from earlier lines serving Scranton and northeastern Pennsylvania. Its original purpose was to carry anthracite coal to major markets in New York City. The railroad expanded east to Hoboken, New Jersey, with connections to New York City by ferry, and west to Buffalo, New York, eventually operating a 395-mile route. Major developments included the Morris and Essex Railroad acquisition in 1868, the opening of the New York, Lackawanna and Western line to Buffalo in 1882, and new terminals in Hoboken, Scranton and Buffalo. The Lackawanna Cut-Off opened in New Jersey in 1911, followed by the Summit-Hallstead Cut-Off in Pennsylvania, built from 1912 to 1915. Declining coal traffic and competition from trucks weakened the railroad. On October 17, 1960, it merged with the Erie Railroad to form the Erie Lackawanna Railroad. Conrail took over the successor on April 1, 1976. Later operators and owners of former routes include NJ Transit, Norfolk Southern, Delaware and Hudson, and regional rail operators.
Keep a stack by the phone for action items, stash a pad in your planner for weekly priorities, or place one on a conference table where everyone can jot a quick note. The adhesive holds through handling but releases cleanly when you move items around. For people who prefer minimal branding and maximum writing space, these pads help keep thoughts visible and tasks moving forward without shouting for attention.
