Product Details & Size Guide
GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.
Bring a storied Colorado rail line to the golf course with Denver and Salt Lake Railway golf balls. The company began in Denver in 1902, taking on a demanding route through mountain country toward Utah. Its milestones include the line reaching Fraser and Steamboat Springs, the Moffat Tunnel beneath the Continental Divide, and the Dotsero Cutoff that linked the route with a path toward Salt Lake City. An engaging choice for golfers who collect railway history or appreciate Colorado's rail heritage.
The Denver and Salt Lake Railway began as the Denver, Northwestern and Pacific Railway, incorporated in July 1902 to build a direct route from Denver, Colorado, toward Salt Lake City, Utah. Led by railway president David H. Moffat, construction began that December and crossed the Front Range, Rollins Pass, Middle Park and Gore Canyon. The line reached Fraser in 1905, Steamboat Springs in 1909 and Craig in 1913, but never reached Utah. After Moffat’s death in 1911, the railroad entered receivership; it reorganized as the Denver and Salt Lake Railroad in 1913 and as the Denver and Salt Lake Railway in 1926. The Moffat Tunnel, completed in 1927 and formally turned over in 1928, provided a route beneath the Continental Divide. The Denver and Rio Grande Western acquired the railway in 1931. Its Dotsero Cutoff, completed in 1934, connected the line at Bond with the Rio Grande route near Dotsero and established a direct rail connection from Denver toward Salt Lake City. The railway was absorbed into the Rio Grande in 1947; that company later joined Southern Pacific in 1988 and Union Pacific in 1996. Much of the former route remains in use.
