Siris Capital acquired Digital River for $840 million in late 2014; the deal was completed in 2015, and the company was delisted from Nasdaq after February 13. Leadership later included Adam Coyle, Christopher Bernander, Vic Pacor and Barry Kasoff. In January 2025, Digital River began shutting down, citing insolvency, and said its Minnesota employees would be laid off and its German subsidiaries closed. It filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in May 2025.
