Product Details & Size Guide

GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.

Bring a thoughtful piece of New York financial history into everyday wear with a quarter zip inspired by Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. Established in 1959, DLJ expanded from independent corporate research into underwriting, trading, advisory work, asset management, and brokerage. The firm’s history also reflects the rise of high-yield bonds and the arrival of online brokerage through DLJDirect. Its 2000 acquisition by Credit Suisse closed a landmark chapter in the firm’s evolution.

Founded in 1959 in the United States by William H. Donaldson, Richard Jenrette, and Dan Lufkin, Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette began with a focus on independent corporate research and grew into an investment bank spanning underwriting, trading, advisory work, asset management, and brokerage. In the 1980s and 1990s, it expanded into high-yield bonds and other businesses. The firm recruited employees from Drexel Burnham Lambert as that company declined and entered bankruptcy in 1990. By 1997, DLJ ranked first in junk-bond underwriting and had risen from 20th to fourth in U.S. stock underwriting volume. Its online brokerage began as Personal Computer Financial Network, became DLJDirect in 1997, and was spun off in 1999. Credit Suisse acquired DLJ in 2000 for approximately $11.5 billion; the deal closed in November. DLJDirect later became CSFBDirect, then HarrisDirect after a 2002 sale, and was resold in 2006. The Pershing Division was sold in 2003. DLJ investment and merchant banking businesses later spun off as separate companies in 2013 and 2014; the merchant business took the name aPriori Capital Partners in 2014. DLJ had been headquartered at 277 Park Avenue in New York City.
