GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.
Put a piece of regional banking history into play. First Union began in Charlotte in 1908 and later became one of the country’s fast-growing banking organizations, building its reach through acquisitions from Florida to Pennsylvania. Its 2001 purchase of Wachovia marked the end of the First Union name as the combined company adopted Wachovia. These golf balls make a memorable choice for corporate-history collectors, golf outings, bankers, and Charlotte fans.
First Union began as Union National Bank, founded by H. M. Victor on June 2, 1908, at a small banking desk in a Charlotte, North Carolina hotel lobby. A 1958 merger with First National Bank and Trust Company of Asheville created First Union National Bank of North Carolina. The company added mortgage banking and insurance firm Cameron-Brown in 1964, incorporated as First Union Corporation in 1967, and reorganized key banking and mortgage operations as subsidiaries in 1968. After regional interstate banking legislation was upheld in 1985, First Union pursued rapid expansion, completing more than 90 banking-related acquisitions by its 2001 merger with Wachovia. Major transactions included Atlantic National Bank in Jacksonville, First Fidelity of Newark, CoreStates Financial of Philadelphia, and Bowles Hollowell Conner & Co. First Union completed its purchase of Wachovia National Bank on September 4, 2001, becoming Wachovia Corporation and adopting the Wachovia name and ticker symbol. Wachovia later merged into Wells Fargo.
