GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.
Set your phone down with a reminder of Western New York's retail past. This Jenss Foldable Mobile Phone Display Stand celebrates a company founded by the Jenss brothers in Lockport in 1887. Jenss expanded to regional shopping destinations and downtown districts, including Boulevard Mall in Amherst and Jenss Twin Ton in Tonawanda. Its department store chapter ended in 2000, but the name remains part of many local shopping memories. A distinctive desk keepsake for collectors and former Jenss customers.
Jenss was a small department store chain serving Western New York. The Jenss brothers founded the company in 1887 in Lockport, New York, establishing a local retail business that later expanded to several regional shopping destinations. Harold Dautch bought the company in 1951. In 1962, Jenss opened its flagship department store at Boulevard Mall in Amherst, New York. Its other locations included Summit Park Mall, Eastern Hills Mall, and Main Street in Niagara Falls. The company also operated Jenss Twin Ton at Main and Niagara streets in downtown Tonawanda, in the former Zuckmaier Brothers department store. In 1997, Jenss decided to close its Summit Park Mall location. On September 15, 2000, the company closed all of its department stores. In 2002, Jenss chose to open stores exclusively with Reeds Jewelers while remaining a separate company. The arrangement was not a merger: Jenss and Reeds Jewelers retained separate and distinct operations. This history traces the brand from its 1887 Lockport founding through regional expansion, department store closures, and a later retail relationship.
