In 1986, it merged with Federated division Shillito–Rike's and adopted the Lazarus name while taking on the division's Cincinnati headquarters. Federated added other acquired store groups to Lazarus in 1987. In 1995, Lazarus joined an Atlanta-based Federated division with Rich's and Goldsmith's while keeping its local name. Federated rebranded the stores Lazarus-Macy's in 2003 and completed their conversion to Macy's in 2005. Former Lazarus stores later moved among Macy's regional divisions as systems integrations were completed.
