Keep a piece of mall-era memory in view with this Limited Too square porcelain fridge magnet. Founded in 1987 as part of The Limited, the brand became a familiar destination for preteen fashion and grew to more than 600 stores at its peak. Its later conversion to Justice makes Limited Too a distinct marker of late 1980s through 2000s retail culture. This magnet offers a small, display-ready way to celebrate former shopping trips, brand history, and collector nostalgia at home.
Limited Too was created by The Limited, Inc. in 1987 as an infants, toddlers, and younger girls counterpart to its adult-oriented retail brand. The chain grew from two stores in 1987 to 288 locations by 1995. A new senior management team repositioned it in 1996 as a preteen girls fashion store. Limited Too, Inc. was spun off in 1999 to build an independent brand identity. Its parent company operated the Mishmash chain from 2001 to 2003, then shifted its focus back to the preteen customer. In January 2004, Too Inc. introduced Justice: Just for Girls, with many early Justice locations converted from Mishmash stores. Too Inc. became Tween Brands, Inc. on July 10, 2006. By February 2008, Limited Too had 582 stores in 47 states and Puerto Rico, plus 25 franchised Middle East stores, and later exceeded 600 stores at its peak. In August 2008, Tween Brands announced a conversion of Limited Too stores to Justice; 560 were rebranded between December 2008 and June 2010. After several dormant years, Bluestar Alliance acquired the Limited Too intellectual property and trademarks in 2015 and revived the brand online.
