GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.
Keep business cards close with a tribute to Más Club, the Houston membership warehouse club designed with local business owners and families in mind. The Walmart-operated pilot opened in 2009 with Hispanic groceries, fresh foods and services under one roof, including money transfer. Its short run ended in 2014, making it a distinctive case study in culturally focused retail. This card holder connects a useful desk accessory with the story of that one-location experiment.
Más Club was an American membership-only warehouse retailer owned and operated by Walmart, founded in 2009 to serve Hispanic consumers. It opened its first and only pilot location on August 6, 2009, at 8711 North Freeway on the north side of Houston, Texas. The 87,000-square-foot club offered fresh foods, imported dry groceries, candy, snacks, beverages, electronics, housewares and seasonal goods, alongside a pharmacy, optical center, café, bakery and money-transfer service. Its assortment included products such as Jarritos sodas, De La Rosa candy and Maseca grocery items, as well as fresh produce and a full-service meat and seafood counter. The store was designed for Hispanic business owners and families, with a membership base described as primarily Mexican. Más Club positioned its selection around Hispanic products and fresh foods, and used Spanish signage with English subtitles. Its name came from the Spanish word for “more.” The Houston pilot officially closed on February 7, 2014.
