Product Details & Size Guide

GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.

Celebrate the story of Mid-Continent Airlines with a pint glass inspired by a carrier that helped connect communities across the central United States. Founded in Sioux City in 1928, the company grew from a flight school into a scheduled airline serving a wide regional network. Its changing names, routes, and Chief Wapello emblem make it a memorable piece for aviation enthusiasts and collectors of regional travel history. Bring a chapter of American airline heritage to relaxed gatherings and home display.

Mid-Continent Airlines began in 1928 as a flight school at Rickenbacker Airport in Sioux City, Iowa, founded by Arthur S. Hanford Sr. and his son, Arthur S. Hanford Jr. It grew into Hanford's Tri-State Airlines, offering charter and scheduled service across the central United States. In 1934, it received air mail routes and briefly moved its headquarters to Minneapolis before returning to Sioux City. Following Arthur Jr.'s death in 1935, new ownership took shape under Thomas Fortune Ryan III. The company was incorporated in Delaware in 1936 and began air-carrier operations as Hanford Airlines; its name changed to Mid-Continent Airlines in 1938 as service expanded around Tulsa and the central oil region. After wartime cargo, training, and aircraft-modification work, it resumed growth, adding Gulf Coast destinations and newer aircraft, including DC-3s and Convair 240s. Based in Kansas City by the time of its final years, the airline served a broad network from the northern central states to Louisiana and Texas. Braniff International Airways acquired it on August 16, 1952, after Civil Aeronautics Board approval. Mid-Continent's routes and aircraft joined Braniff's network, and its name and Chief Wapello logo are administered as Braniff intellectual property.

A sturdy 16oz pint glass that brings a little roadhouse spirit to everyday pours. The clear tempered glass showcases whatever you fill it with — amber beer, cold brew, or fresh juice — while a bold vintage-inspired script wraps the side for a subtle, nostalgic touch. It feels solid in the hand, resists everyday wear, and pairs easily with bar carts, kitchen counters, or a laid-back backyard table. Wash gently by hand to keep the lettering sharp and the glass crystal-clear. Built from tempered materials and assembled in the USA, this glass fits into evenings spent swapping stories, weekend morning routines, or those slow, quiet moments when a simple drink matters.
