GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.
Take a piece of island airline history along on your travels with this Mid Pacific Air passport cover. Founded in 1981, the carrier connected Hawaii's major islands and briefly operated a Honolulu–Pago Pago service as Mid Pacific Arrow. Its later chapters included western routes, cargo work, and commuter connections under the Reno Air Express name. Made for aviation enthusiasts and airline-history collectors, this design recalls a carrier whose identity evolved across routes and eras.
Mid Pacific Air was founded in 1981 as a low-cost regional airline serving Hawaii. Its first routes linked Kauai, O'ahu, Maui and the Big Island, with its original headquarters at Honolulu International Airport. Unlike Hawaiian Airlines and Aloha Airlines, it relied mainly on NAMC YS-11 turboprops; Fokker F28 Fellowship jets joined the fleet in 1985. The airline briefly operated a Honolulu–Pago Pago service in 1982 under the Mid Pacific Arrow name, using a leased Boeing 707. In 1984 it leased four YS-11s to Fort Worth Airlines and became a major shareholder in that airline the following year. Also in 1985, it expanded into Nevada and California, serving routes from Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon area. Sold to KOA Holdings in January 1986, Mid Pacific later ended Hawaii passenger service on January 19, 1988, and cargo service there a month later. It shifted to Midwest cargo operations from Lafayette, Indiana, and was headquartered at Indianapolis International Airport. In the 1990s, it provided commuter connections as Reno Air Express under a code-sharing agreement with Reno Air, and flew cargo for TNT between New York City and Bermuda in 1992 and 1993. The airline ceased operations in 1995.
