The airline also flew fixed-wing Twin Otter aircraft. Its Pan Am Building rooftop service began in December 1965, ended in 1968, and briefly resumed in 1977. Perry H. Young made his first flight for the airline on February 5, 1957, becoming the first African American airline pilot. After the 1977 rooftop heliport accident and the 1979 oil crisis, the company ceased flying on April 18, 1979, and filed for bankruptcy on May 18.
