GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.

Add a NeXT chapter to your gathering with a can cooler inspired by the company’s distinctive role in computer history. Founded in 1985, NeXT first built workstations for higher education and business, then turned toward software in 1993. NeXTSTEP and its development tools became an enduring part of the story, connecting workstation computing with early web development and the roots of later Apple operating systems. It makes a thoughtful conversation piece for collectors, software enthusiasts, and anyone who remembers the changing landscape of personal computing.

NeXT was founded in 1985 in California by Steve Jobs and former Apple employees to build workstations for higher education and business. The company introduced the NeXT Computer in 1988 and released the NeXTcube and NeXTstation in 1990. Its hardware had limited commercial success, but NeXTSTEP, its object-oriented operating system and development environment, became influential. NeXT also developed WebObjects and partnered with Sun Microsystems on the OpenStep specification. In 1993, the company left the hardware business, changed its name to NeXT Software, Inc., and focused on software, including OPENSTEP for Mach. Its workstations and software were used to develop the first web server and browser, as well as Doom and Quake. Apple announced its acquisition of NeXT in December 1996 and completed the $427 million deal in February 1997. Jobs returned to Apple as an advisor and later became its CEO. Apple built Rhapsody, Mac OS X, and later macOS on NeXT software technologies, carrying NeXT's work into a new era of Apple operating systems.
