Product Details & Size Guide
GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.
Bring railroad heritage to your desk with this Norfolk Southern Railway Foldable Mobile Phone Display Stand. Its story spans nineteenth-century predecessor lines, the 1982 combination of Southern Railway and Norfolk and Western, and the later integration of much of Conrail. The railway connects that history with present-day freight operations across the eastern United States. A useful everyday desk accessory for rail enthusiasts, transportation-history fans, and collectors who enjoy keeping a piece of railway identity nearby.
Norfolk Southern Railway is an Eastern United States freight railroad headquartered in Atlanta and the leading subsidiary of Norfolk Southern Corporation. The corporation was incorporated in Virginia on July 23, 1980. The railway took shape in 1982 when the Southern Railway, formed in 1894, and the Norfolk and Western Railway, formed in 1881, merged. Their predecessor lines reach back to the 19th century: the South Carolina Canal & Rail Road began scheduled passenger service in 1830, while the Richmond & Danville Railroad was formed in 1847. Norfolk and Western expanded through acquisitions, including the Virginian Railway in 1959 and the Nickel Plate Road in 1964. In 1990, Southern’s name changed to Norfolk Southern Railway Company; in 1998, Norfolk and Western was merged into it. Norfolk Southern later acquired 58 percent of Conrail’s assets, with operations on its share beginning June 1, 1999. The railway serves 22 eastern states and the District of Columbia. Its headquarters moved from Norfolk, Virginia, to Atlanta in 2021. In 2025, Union Pacific announced a proposed acquisition; the plan remains subject to regulatory review.
