Bring a distinctive airline name to the golf course with these North American Airlines golf balls. Founded in 1989, the carrier began operations in January 1990 with charter flights and Boeing 757 aircraft, later expanding into long-range flying and scheduled routes linking the United States with Africa, Guyana, and the Caribbean. Its history moved from scheduled service back to charters and wet leases before operations ended in 2014. A conversation-starting choice for golfers who collect aviation history and remember changing airline routes.
North American Airlines, Inc. was established in 1989 by Dan McKinnon, a former head of the Civil Aeronautics Board, and began operations on January 20, 1990. Based in Peachtree City, Georgia, in the Atlanta area, it initially flew charter services with Boeing 757 aircraft. During the 1990s, it expanded to destinations including San Juan, Puerto Rico, and locations in Mexico, and added Boeing 767s for long-range charter flights. Its scheduled network included routes between the United States, Africa, Guyana, and the Caribbean. World Air Holdings acquired the airline in April 2005. In April 2007, New ATA Holdings bought World Air Holdings and renamed the parent company Global Aero Logistics; that holding company became Global Aviation Holdings in February 2009. North American ended scheduled services in May 2008, shifting its focus to charters and wet leases. Tampa International Airport served as its main aircraft and maintenance base. The airline continued charter operations until it shut down in March 2014 for bankruptcy reasons.
