GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.

The Oregon Railroad and Navigation Company brought rail and steamboat routes together across the Pacific Northwest. This polo shirt celebrates the regional network that grew from Portland toward Wallula and connected communities in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. OR&N began operating in 1896, joined Union Pacific ownership in 1898, and became a renamed subsidiary in 1910. Wear it to share a concise piece of transportation history and the story of a company that helped link river travel with expanding rail lines.

The Oregon Railroad and Navigation Company (OR&N) combined rail and steamboat transportation in the Pacific Northwest. Its roots included the Oregon Railway and Navigation Company, incorporated in Portland in 1879, and several smaller railroads. In 1880, that predecessor acquired the Oregon Steam Navigation Company and completed its Columbia River route to Wallula by 1882. OR&N operated from 1896, following the reorganization of the Oregon Railway and Navigation Company, with a network extending east from Portland into northeastern Oregon, northeastern Washington, and northern Idaho. Union Pacific bought a majority stake in 1898. The system included rail lines built or acquired by predecessor companies, among them the Columbia and Palouse Railroad and the Walla Walla and Columbia River Railroad. OR&N also operated steamships, including Columbia and George W. Elder; its shipping division was renamed the San Francisco and Portland Steamship Company in 1904. In 1910, OR&N became a Union Pacific subsidiary named the Oregon–Washington Railroad and Navigation Company. Union Pacific formally absorbed the system in 1936, and its route became a gateway to the Pacific Northwest.
