GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.
Introduce young aviation fans to Ozark Air Lines, a Missouri carrier whose scheduled service began in 1950 after it took over routes from Parks Air Lines. From early flights linking St. Louis with Chicago, Tulsa, and Memphis to the airline’s distinctive three-swallow tail emblem, its story captures a memorable chapter in local-service aviation. This toddler tee connects little travelers with the growth of an airline that moved from DC-3s to jets and became part of TWA in 1986. A thoughtful pick for family outings, aviation-minded celebrations, or everyday airline-history pride.
Ozark Air Lines was incorporated in Missouri on September 1, 1943, but began scheduled airline service on September 26, 1950. Its launch followed the Civil Aeronautics Board’s revocation of Parks Air Lines’ route authority: Parks sold its airline operation to Ozark, which took over service from East St. Louis to Chicago via St. Louis. Early routes expanded from St. Louis to Chicago, Tulsa, and Memphis. St. Louis Lambert International Airport became Ozark’s main hub and headquarters. The airline grew from Douglas DC-3 service to turboprops and jets, introducing Douglas DC-9s in 1966 and adding MD-80s in 1984. A 1985 agreement with Air Midwest created the Ozark Midwest feeder operation. On March 1, 1986, Ozark and Trans World Airlines announced a purchase agreement; Ozark ceased to exist as an independent company on October 27, 1986, and its aircraft were repainted in TWA livery. TWA merged into American Airlines on December 1, 2001. A separate airline using the Ozark name began service in 2000 from Columbia, Missouri, and ceased operations the following year.
