GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.
Mark the story of Ozark Air Lines with a quarter zip pullover made for fans of aviation heritage and regional airline history. The Missouri company began scheduled service in 1950 after taking over Parks Air Lines routes, then grew its St. Louis hub as its fleet advanced from piston aircraft to turboprops and jets. Ozark’s three-swallow emblem, Ozark Midwest feeder operation, and 1986 transition into TWA give this piece an especially rich collector connection. Wear it for travel days, aviation events, or relaxed moments spent sharing airline memories.
Ozark Air Lines was incorporated in Missouri on September 1, 1943, but began scheduled airline service on September 26, 1950. Its launch followed the Civil Aeronautics Board’s revocation of Parks Air Lines’ route authority: Parks sold its airline operation to Ozark, which took over service from East St. Louis to Chicago via St. Louis. Early routes expanded from St. Louis to Chicago, Tulsa, and Memphis. St. Louis Lambert International Airport became Ozark’s main hub and headquarters. The airline grew from Douglas DC-3 service to turboprops and jets, introducing Douglas DC-9s in 1966 and adding MD-80s in 1984. A 1985 agreement with Air Midwest created the Ozark Midwest feeder operation. On March 1, 1986, Ozark and Trans World Airlines announced a purchase agreement; Ozark ceased to exist as an independent company on October 27, 1986, and its aircraft were repainted in TWA livery. TWA merged into American Airlines on December 1, 2001. A separate airline using the Ozark name began service in 2000 from Columbia, Missouri, and ceased operations the following year.
