GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.
Keep reminders close with a Pacer International Sticky Post-it Note Pad that nods to North American transportation history. Founded in 1997, Pacer brought together businesses across rail, trucking, brokerage, and logistics, building on Don Orris’s earlier work developing cost-effective double-stack rail service. Its Pacer Stacktrain identity and cross-border reach make the company an engaging subject for brand and freight-history collectors. A useful desk companion for jotting down ideas while keeping a memorable chapter of corporate history in view.
Pacer International grew from transportation and logistics businesses assembled by founder Don Orris. In 1984, Orris led development of a cost-effective double-stack rail network service, helping change domestic goods movement in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. In 1997, he began acquiring 14 small-to-medium-sized companies in transportation, third-party logistics, intermodal marketing, drayage, and ocean transportation, founding Pacer International. Pacer acquired APL Stacktrain in 1999 and operated it as Pacer Stacktrain. In 2001, it consolidated transportation and logistics brokerage services in Pacer Global Logistics, renamed Pacer Transportation Solutions in 2008. Pacer became a public company in 2002. Its intermodal network doubled in size in 2008 with added BNSF service routes, alongside expansion of truck brokerage and highway services. XPO completed its acquisition of Pacer International on March 31, 2014; the deal made XPO the third-largest North American intermodal provider and the largest provider of cross-border Mexico intermodal. Former Pacer operations were later integrated into XPO's service offering. XPO sold the business to STG Logistics in 2022. STG filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in January 2026.
