GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.
Introduce a little one to the story of PenAir, an airline whose roots reach back to Pilot Point, Alaska, in 1955. Peninsula Airways began with a small aircraft and grew to connect remote communities across the Alaska Peninsula and Aleutian Islands. Its history brings together bush flying, regional routes, and the changing world of airline service. This infant bodysuit is a sweet choice for aviation-minded families, Alaska travelers, and relatives who enjoy sharing their interest in airline history.
Founded in 1955 by Orin Seybert in Pilot Point, Alaska, Peninsula Airways began with a two-seat Taylorcraft. The company incorporated in 1965 and acquired a fixed-base operation in King Salmon. In 1967 it became a subcontractor to Reeve Aleutian Airways, later expanding service across the Alaska Peninsula and Aleutian Islands. PenAir added bases and scheduled routes through acquisitions, including Air Transport Services in Kodiak in 1985, and began Anchorage service to King Salmon and Dillingham in 1986. It adopted the PenAir name in 1991 and entered a code-sharing and Mileage Plan partnership with Alaska Airlines. Its network later reached the northeastern United States, then expanded to routes in the Midwest and West. PenAir filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2017 and ended direct ticket sales under its own brand on June 1, 2019, when flights were marketed using Ravn Alaska flight numbers. Its parent, RavnAir Group, suspended operations and filed for bankruptcy in 2020; PenAir ceased operations.
