Product Details & Size Guide
GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.
Bring a curious piece of travel history to your desk with this Pet Airways Foldable Mobile Phone Display Stand. Pet Airways set itself apart by designing an airline around pets traveling in the main cabin, with attendants providing care during the journey. Its 2009 launch connected nine U.S. cities on the first weekly flight, and the company eventually flew more than 9,000 pets before ceasing operations in 2011. A useful keepsake for aviation fans, pet people, and collectors of unusual business stories.
Pet Airways was an American airline headquartered in Delray Beach, Florida, and focused exclusively on transporting pets. Founded by Dan Wiesel and Alysa Binder after they considered the challenges of traveling with their dog, the company was funded by a group of investors. It described itself as the first airline designed specifically for pets to travel in the main cabin rather than as cargo. Operations began in 2009, and its first weekly flight, on July 14, served nine U.S. cities: New York City, Baltimore/Washington, Chicago, Omaha, Fort Lauderdale, Atlanta, Phoenix, Denver, and Los Angeles. Pets traveled under the care of attendants, with airport lounge check-ins and en-route tracking offered to owners. In April 2011, the airline announced additional destinations in Texas, St. Louis, and Orlando, but those services did not begin. It ceased operations in 2011, after flying more than 9,000 pets. Its parent, PAWS Pet Company Inc., later moved into pharmaceuticals and changed its name to Praxsyn Corporation. As of May 2024, the Pet Airways website indicated plans to resume flights if funding could be secured.
