Product Details & Size Guide

GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.

Honor Phianna's concise place in automotive history with an ornament inspired by the American luxury marque. Active from 1916 to 1922, Phianna began with equipment inherited from SGV, shifted from Newark to Long Island City, and carried on under new ownership after wartime factory use. Its custom coachwork, hand-built details, and evolving models give collectors a memorable story of ambition and change. A distinctive keepsake for car enthusiasts and admirers of historic companies.

Phianna was an American luxury automobile manufactured from 1916 to 1922. R. J. Metzler created the Phianna Motors Company in 1916 after acquiring the equipment and production line of the debt-burdened SGV in May 1915. With industrialists John A. Bell and T. M. Pepperday, he moved production from Reading to Newark, New Jersey. The name joined Phyllis and Anna, the names of one of the company's twin daughters. Phianna first made a car based on the SGV, then developed its own models. In 1918, wartime use of the factory for tools and dies for the Wright-Martin Aircraft Company led to the sale of Phianna's assets. Miles Harold Carpenter and Texas rancher Carl M. Worsham acquired them and established a new plant at the end of 59th Street in Long Island City, New York. Carpenter, an automotive designer with experience at Pierce Arrow and Chalmers, oversaw hand-built cars, including updated models shown in 1919. The marque offered four- and six-cylinder engines and introduced safety glass, turn signals, and stop lights in 1919. Facing the depression of 1921, Carpenter decided to end production. The final car was completed in 1922 for John F. Norman.
