Product Details & Size Guide

GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.

Celebrate a Cleveland-area supermarket story with this Pick-N-Pay Supermarkets cuffed beanie. The brand began with Edward Silverberg’s small dairy store in 1928, grew through Farmview Creamery Stores, and took its lasting name in 1940. Its history continued through Cook Coffee Company, Foodtown, and the transition to First National Supermarkets. For regional history enthusiasts, former shoppers, and grocery-brand collectors, this piece brings a recognizable local name into a relaxed everyday look.

Pick-N-Pay Supermarkets grew from a small dairy store opened by Edward Silverberg in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, in 1928. Silverberg expanded the business as Farmview Creamery Stores, then opened a Pick-N-Pay supermarket on E. 185th Street in 1938. In 1940, he renamed all his stores Pick-N-Pay Supermarkets. The chain reached 10 stores before Silverberg sold it in 1951 to Cook Coffee Company, later known as Cook United, Inc. Under Cook Coffee, the business expanded and acquired Foodtown supermarkets in 1959. In 1972, a private investor group led by former Foodtown head Julius Kravitz bought the chain and continued the Pick-N-Pay name. In 1978, Pick-N-Pay acquired First National Stores of Boston, and the company became First National Supermarkets, Inc., headquartered in Maple Heights, Ohio. After Kravitz's death in 1979, the chain, including Pick-N-Pay, Edwards Food Warehouse, and Finast stores, was purchased by Ahold of the Netherlands. The chain served Greater Cleveland, where it was known for an emphasis on higher-end meats and produce.

This cuffed beanie carries a lived-in street energy—soft, warm, and quietly bold. The low-profile embroidery sits on the cuff like a personal insignia: a small, slightly distressed logo with a touch of red that reads as both vintage and current. It slips on easily and stays put through commutes, late-night walks, and chilly market runs, adding a subtle graphic edge without shouting.

Wear it with a worn denim jacket, layered knit, or an oversized coat. It works for creatives who like to curate a look that’s casual but considered, for city cyclists who need dependable warmth, or for anyone who favors compact, tactile details. The hypoallergenic acrylic knit keeps things comfortable against the skin while the 12" cuff gives you styling flexibility—fold it high for warmth or roll it low for a slouchier silhouette. This is a small, everyday piece that quietly completes an outfit and ages into its own personality.
