Pirch grew to ten metropolitan markets across the United States. On February 26, 2013, private equity firm Catterton Partners announced a minority investment in the company. In September 2017, Pirch changed its focus and closed stores outside California, returning to a four-store California footprint. In March 2024, it paused operations, temporarily closing its remaining six California showrooms and distribution centers. On April 19, the company announced it would permanently shut down. Pirch filed for Chapter 7 liquidation on April 22, 2024, listing liabilities of $100 million to $500 million and assets of $10 million to $50 million.
