Founded there in 2009 by Phil Roxworthy, James Fikes, Tom Cavallo and other businessmen, it operated under Rox Design DBA Fixtures Kitchen Bath Outdoor. Its showrooms were designed as experiential spaces where customers could try appliances and plumbing fixtures in home-like settings with guidance from sales consultants. Pirch grew to ten metropolitan markets across the United States. On February 26, 2013, private equity firm Catterton Partners announced a minority investment in the company. In September 2017, Pirch changed its focus and closed stores outside California, returning to a four-store California footprint. In March 2024, it paused operations, temporarily closing its remaining six California showrooms and distribution centers. On April 19, the company announced it would permanently shut down. Pirch filed for Chapter 7 liquidation on April 22, 2024, listing liabilities of $100 million to $500 million and assets of $10 million to $50 million.
