Take a piece of charter aviation history into your day with this Primaris Airlines tumbler listing. Established in 2002 and based in Enterprise, Nevada, the carrier began operations in June 2004 and briefly operated an Oakland-to-Kona shuttle. Primaris earned FAA Part 121 certification and later received 180-minute ETOPS certification in 2006. Its planned aircraft expansion was canceled that year, and funding difficulties brought operations to a halt in December 2008. A fitting keepsake for collectors drawn to the stories behind short-lived airline brands.
Primaris Airlines, Inc. was an American charter airline based in Enterprise, Nevada, serving domestic and international routes. Established in 2002, it began operations on June 1, 2004, and received FAA Part 121 certification in June 2004 as a domestic, flag, and supplemental operator. On November 3, 2006, the airline earned 180-minute ETOPS certification. For a few years, it operated the Kona Shuttle between Oakland, California, and Kona, Hawaii. Primaris had ordered 20 Boeing 737-800 aircraft and 20 Boeing 787 Dreamliners for planned international expansion, but canceled both orders in June 2006; no reason was reported. The airline filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on October 10, 2008, in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Arizona. It suspended operations on December 2, 2008, citing a lack of available funding. After several months of efforts to secure continuation funding, the Chapter 11 trustee moved to convert the case to Chapter 7 liquidation on March 30, 2009. The available account does not identify a successor airline or a later operating brand.
