Raise a glass to Republic Airlines, the carrier formed in 1979 when North Central Airlines and Southern Airways came together after airline deregulation. Its expanding network linked Minneapolis, Detroit, Memphis, and western destinations after the 1980 Hughes Airwest acquisition. This pint glass brings that chapter of American aviation history to everyday gatherings, whether you are sharing route-map stories, remembering a favorite flight, or adding an aviation keepsake to your home bar. A thoughtful choice for airline history enthusiasts and Republic collectors.

Republic Airlines began operations on July 1, 1979, when North Central Airlines and Southern Airways merged in the first airline merger following the federal Airline Deregulation Act. Headquartered at Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport in Minnesota, Republic operated hubs there, at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, and at Memphis International Airport. In 1980, it acquired Hughes Airwest, adding hubs at Phoenix Sky Harbor and Las Vegas McCarran and briefly becoming the U.S. airline serving the greatest number of airports. Its fleet included McDonnell Douglas DC-9s, Boeing 727-200s and 757-200s, MD-80s, and Convair 580 turboprops. Financial losses and service reductions challenged the airline in the early 1980s. In 1985, Republic Express feeder flights connected smaller cities with its Detroit, Memphis, and Minneapolis hubs. Northwest Orient Airlines announced its purchase of Republic on January 23, 1986; the $884 million merger was completed October 1. Northwest dropped Orient from its name and incorporated Republic’s hubs into its domestic network. Northwest later merged with Delta Air Lines, with Delta becoming the surviving carrier in January 2010. The former Republic headquarters is now Delta Air Lines Building C.

A sturdy 16oz pint glass that brings a little roadhouse spirit to everyday pours. The clear tempered glass showcases whatever you fill it with — amber beer, cold brew, or fresh juice — while a bold vintage-inspired script wraps the side for a subtle, nostalgic touch. It feels solid in the hand, resists everyday wear, and pairs easily with bar carts, kitchen counters, or a laid-back backyard table. Wash gently by hand to keep the lettering sharp and the glass crystal-clear. Built from tempered materials and assembled in the USA, this glass fits into evenings spent swapping stories, weekend morning routines, or those slow, quiet moments when a simple drink matters.
