Product Details & Size Guide

GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.

Carry a piece of Texas rail history on everyday journeys. The San Antonio and Aransas Pass Railway began building its route in 1885, linking San Antonio’s ambitions with the Gulf coast and opening a path into Hill Country communities. Its first train ran in 1886, and the line reached Kerrville the following year. This backpack design honors a railway shaped by regional growth, changing ownership, and its eventual consolidation in 1934.

The San Antonio and Aransas Pass Railway was organized in 1884 to create a direct rail route from San Antonio toward Mexico and Aransas Bay on the Texas Gulf coast, where a deepwater port was being developed. Developed by Uriah Lott with support from San Antonio businessmen, the line began construction in 1885, and its first train ran in 1886. An extension toward Boerne began that August; passenger service reached Boerne in March 1887, and the railway continued through Comfort to Kerrville by August of that year. The company entered receivership in 1890 and emerged in 1892 after reorganization, when Southern Pacific acquired most of its stock. A spur to Fredericksburg was completed around 1914. Texas law led to a 1903 lawsuit that required Southern Pacific to divest its ownership, but a change in statutes allowed it to regain control in 1924. In 1934, Southern Pacific consolidated the railway into its Texas and New Orleans subsidiary road. The line’s history links San Antonio’s rail development with Texas Gulf coast port ambitions and later corporate consolidation.
