Product Details & Size Guide
Celebrate the far-reaching routes of the Seaboard Air Line Railroad with a cuffed beanie inspired by a defining name in southeastern rail history. From its roots in early Virginia and North Carolina railroads, the company grew into a system linking Richmond, Raleigh, Savannah, Jacksonville, and Florida destinations. Its Silver Meteor passenger service became part of the region's travel story. This piece suits railroad collectors and fans who appreciate the people, places, and journeys behind the Seaboard name.
Seaboard Air Line Railroad (SAL), known colloquially as the Seaboard Railroad, operated from April 14, 1900, until July 1, 1967. Its predecessor railroads dated to the 1830s, including the Portsmouth and Roanoke Railroad, chartered in 1832, and the Raleigh and Gaston Railroad. After extensive reorganizations and post-Civil War rebuilding, the roads developed into a connected system. SAL was headquartered in Portsmouth, Virginia, until its main offices moved to Richmond in 1958. Its main route ran from Richmond through Raleigh, Columbia, Savannah, and Jacksonville to Tampa, with additional lines reaching Miami, Atlanta, Birmingham, and other southeastern cities. Seaboard carried manufactured goods and vacationers south and transported Southern timber, minerals, and produce, including Florida citrus, north. Its passenger service included the Silver Meteor, introduced in 1939. Following bankruptcy during the Great Depression, the railroad was reorganized as the Seaboard Air Line Railroad in 1946. On July 1, 1967, it merged with longtime rival Atlantic Coast Line Railroad to form Seaboard Coast Line Railroad. The successor rail network later became part of Seaboard System and, in 1986, CSX Transportation.

This cuffed beanie carries a lived-in street energy—soft, warm, and quietly bold. The low-profile embroidery sits on the cuff like a personal insignia: a small, slightly distressed logo with a touch of red that reads as both vintage and current. It slips on easily and stays put through commutes, late-night walks, and chilly market runs, adding a subtle graphic edge without shouting.
Wear it with a worn denim jacket, layered knit, or an oversized coat. It works for creatives who like to curate a look that’s casual but considered, for city cyclists who need dependable warmth, or for anyone who favors compact, tactile details. The hypoallergenic acrylic knit keeps things comfortable against the skin while the 12" cuff gives you styling flexibility—fold it high for warmth or roll it low for a slouchier silhouette. This is a small, everyday piece that quietly completes an outfit and ages into its own personality.
