Add a touch of railroad history to your desk with this Seaboard Coast Line Railroad foldable mobile phone display stand. SCL’s 1967 formation united two major Southeastern predecessors and created a network spanning 9,809 miles. Its evolving identity, from the shared Family Lines period to the Seaboard System in 1983, gives rail enthusiasts a rich story to revisit while using a phone at home or work. A practical keepsake for collectors who enjoy the history behind the name.

The Seaboard Coast Line Railroad began operating on July 1, 1967, after the merger of the Seaboard Air Line Railroad and the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad. The combined system covered 9,809 miles and served the Southeastern United States, drawing its familiar name from the two predecessors’ popular short forms: “Seaboard” and “the Coast Line.” In 1969, it acquired the Piedmont and Northern Railway, whose routes crossed North and South Carolina. In 1971, it gained control of the Louisville and Nashville Railroad, and its passenger operations passed to Amtrak on May 1 that year. SCL also acquired the Durham and Southern Railway in 1979. Before its next major transition, SCL and affiliated railroads operated under common ownership and shared the Family Lines identity while continuing as separate railroads. CSX Corporation was formed in 1980. On January 1, 1983, SCL became the Seaboard System Railroad through consolidation with its controlled and affiliated lines. In December 1986, the former Chessie units joined the Seaboard System, which later became CSX Transportation. The railroad is also associated with the launch of a mile-long orange-juice train in 1970, running from Bradenton, Florida, to New Jersey.
