In 2002, Albertsons sold the 12-store chain to Schnucks, which rebranded the stores under its own name. Schnucks later left the Memphis market in 2011, selling the former Seessel's stores to Kroger. Across these changes in ownership and branding, the business remained associated with Memphis grocery history, from a downtown meat stand to a regional supermarket chain.
