Product Details & Size Guide
Remember the small Utah airline that grew into a major regional carrier with this SkyWest Airlines cuffed beanie. Founded from the 1972 purchase of Dixie Airlines, the company built its reach through acquisitions and partnerships, from Western Express service to later Delta Connection, United Express, and American Eagle flying. Its story is rooted in connecting smaller communities with airline hubs, making this piece a fitting everyday nod to the people, routes, and changing names that shaped regional aviation across the West.
SkyWest Airlines traces its origins to Dixie Airlines, which St. George, Utah, lawyer Ralph Atkin purchased on April 26, 1972, to connect local business travelers with Salt Lake City. After early challenges, the carrier expanded across the western United States. Its 1984 acquisition of Sun Aire Lines, based in Palm Springs, California, made it the eleventh-largest regional carrier at the time; SkyWest went public in 1986. That year it began flying as Western Express for Western Airlines. Following Western's acquisition by Delta Air Lines in 1987, SkyWest became a Delta Connection carrier. It added United Express service in 1997 and American Eagle service in 2012, while also operating for other partners over the years. SkyWest, Inc. acquired Atlantic Southeast Airlines in 2005 and planned to combine it with ExpressJet in 2010; ExpressJet was later sold, with the sale closing in 2019. In 2024, SkyWest took a 25 percent stake in Contour Airlines and agreed to operate additional Embraer 175 aircraft for United Express. Headquartered in St. George, the company operates regional flights under partner airline brands, linking smaller communities with major airline hubs.

This cuffed beanie carries a lived-in street energy—soft, warm, and quietly bold. The low-profile embroidery sits on the cuff like a personal insignia: a small, slightly distressed logo with a touch of red that reads as both vintage and current. It slips on easily and stays put through commutes, late-night walks, and chilly market runs, adding a subtle graphic edge without shouting.
Wear it with a worn denim jacket, layered knit, or an oversized coat. It works for creatives who like to curate a look that’s casual but considered, for city cyclists who need dependable warmth, or for anyone who favors compact, tactile details. The hypoallergenic acrylic knit keeps things comfortable against the skin while the 12" cuff gives you styling flexibility—fold it high for warmth or roll it low for a slouchier silhouette. This is a small, everyday piece that quietly completes an outfit and ages into its own personality.
