Raise a glass to Southern Sky Air Tours, the Myrtle Beach charter brand remembered for linking vacation destinations through partner airlines. Announced in 2006, Direct Air began flying in 2007 and built a route network that reached places including Niagara Falls, Plattsburgh, Newark, and Florida cities. This pint glass makes a thoughtful addition to a home bar, travel memorabilia shelf, or collection devoted to American airline history and the distinctive names that once served leisure travelers.
Southern Sky Air Tours operated under the name Direct Air, a virtual airline based in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Announced in November 2006, it began flying on March 7, 2007, with its main base at Myrtle Beach International Airport. Rather than operating its own aircraft, Direct Air arranged charter flights with other airlines. Sky King initially flew the service using Boeing 737-200 aircraft; after that relationship ended in May 2007, flights were operated primarily by Xtra Airways and Sky King, with other carriers also used at times. The network included destinations such as Niagara Falls, Plattsburgh, Newark, and several Florida cities. Direct Air added a St. Petersburg station, which closed in 2008, and later served routes from Melbourne, Palm Beach, and Lakeland. On March 12, 2012, it cancelled its charter flights and announced a possible restart, but did not resume service. It filed for Chapter 11 protection on March 16; Chapter 7 liquidation began April 12, 2012. Subsequent legal proceedings concerned the company’s finances and passenger-fare escrow funds. Direct Air had no aircraft fleet of its own.

A sturdy 16oz pint glass that brings a little roadhouse spirit to everyday pours. The clear tempered glass showcases whatever you fill it with — amber beer, cold brew, or fresh juice — while a bold vintage-inspired script wraps the side for a subtle, nostalgic touch. It feels solid in the hand, resists everyday wear, and pairs easily with bar carts, kitchen counters, or a laid-back backyard table. Wash gently by hand to keep the lettering sharp and the glass crystal-clear. Built from tempered materials and assembled in the USA, this glass fits into evenings spent swapping stories, weekend morning routines, or those slow, quiet moments when a simple drink matters.
