Product Details & Size Guide

GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.

Let young railway fans wear a piece of regional history with this St. Louis–San Francisco Railway youth hoodie. Known as the Frisco, the company connected cities including St. Louis, Kansas City, Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Memphis, and Birmingham. Its routes carried passengers through decades of change, including the jointly operated Texas Special, before the 1980 merger into Burlington Northern. A distinctive choice for students who enjoy trains, local history, and the stories behind the rail lines still in use.

The St. Louis–San Francisco Railway, widely known as the Frisco, operated across the Midwest and south-central United States from 1876 to November 21, 1980. Incorporated in Missouri on September 7, 1876, it grew from divisions of the Atlantic and Pacific Railroad. After financial failure, the company re-emerged in 1896 as the St. Louis and San Francisco Railroad, then underwent another reorganization on August 24, 1916, adopting the St. Louis–San Francisco Railway name. Its network linked St. Louis, Kansas City, Springfield, Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Memphis, Birmingham and other cities. Springfield, Missouri, was the junction of its two principal routes and home to its main shops; its corporate headquarters were in St. Louis. From 1917 to 1959, the Frisco jointly operated the Texas Special with the Missouri–Kansas–Texas Railroad. The railway’s name suggested a western reach it never had: its tracks did not approach San Francisco and ended more than 1,000 miles away. The Frisco merged into Burlington Northern Railroad in 1980. Much of its core network remains in use, operated by BNSF Railway, while Frisco, Texas, preserves the name and former railway logo.
