Product Details & Size Guide

GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.

Add a Cotton Belt touch to your workspace with a mouse pad inspired by the St. Louis Southwestern Railway. The railway’s history links early Texas rail construction with a 725-mile route completed in 1883 between Gatesville and Bird's Point. Later, its passenger trains connected St. Louis and Texas, helping make the Cotton Belt a memorable name in American rail travel. An everyday desk accessory for railway fans, history enthusiasts, and collectors drawn to the stories behind historic routes.

The St. Louis Southwestern Railway, known as the Cotton Belt Route or Cotton Belt, traced its roots to a line founded at Tyler, Texas, in 1871. Its original Tyler Tap Railroad began construction in 1875. The line became the Texas and St. Louis Railway, which was completed in 1883 as a 725-mile route between Gatesville, Texas, and Bird's Point, Missouri. After receivership and changes in ownership, its assets were acquired through foreclosure by the St. Louis-Southwestern Railway in 1891, the year the company was organized. In 1903, trackage rights over the Missouri Pacific and Terminal Railroad Association enabled access to St. Louis via East St. Louis. The Cotton Belt served routes across Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee, Louisiana, and Texas, with passenger trains connecting St. Louis and Texas and Memphis with Dallas and Shreveport. Southern Pacific assumed control on April 14, 1932, and operated the railway as a subsidiary. In 1980, the system added the Rock Island Golden State Route, extending operations into Kansas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. Passenger service ended in 1959. Southern Pacific consolidated Cotton Belt operations in 1992, and Southern Pacific merged with Union Pacific in 1996.
