Product Details & Size Guide
GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.
Keep a piece of Albanian airline history close at hand with this Star Airways foldable mobile phone display stand. Based in Tirana, Star Airways was founded in 2008 and began operations in June 2010 with MD-82 aircraft supplied by another carrier. Its two leased A320s never entered service, and the airline stopped flying after its license was withdrawn that year. A practical conversation starter for aviation-history collectors, airline enthusiasts and anyone curious about short-lived carriers.
Star Airways was an Albanian airline based in Tirana, founded in 2008 by Albanian and Italian investors. It received its operating license in June 2009. The company took delivery of its first Airbus A320-231, registered ZA-RED, on 3 April 2010; the aircraft had previously been operated by Mexico's Mexicana de Aviación. A second Airbus A320-211, formerly operated by Nouvelair, arrived in May 2010. Both aircraft were obtained through leasing company ILFC, but Star Airways did not receive approval to operate them. Instead, it began flight operations on 7 June 2010 with two McDonnell Douglas MD-82 jetliners supplied by ItAli Airlines. Initial scheduled services linked Tirana with several Italian cities. Plans also named Istanbul, Antalya, Thessaloniki and Düsseldorf as possible additions to the network. In summer 2010, Albania's aviation authority withdrew the company's operating license, and all flights stopped in September. The two A320s never entered Star Airways service, while the MD-82s operated on its behalf. The airline is listed among Albania's defunct carriers.
