Product Details & Size Guide
Tele-Communications traces its beginnings to 1958, when Western Microwave and Community Television operated as commonly owned businesses in Bozeman, Montana. Their 1968 merger brought a new name and Denver base, followed by decades of cable-system growth. This cuffed beanie offers a simple way to show interest in TCI’s part in American communications history, from early community antenna television to the company’s 1999 transition into AT&T Broadband and Internet Services.
Tele-Communications, Inc. (TCI) began in 1958 in Bozeman, Montana, as two commonly owned businesses, Western Microwave, Inc. and Community Television, Inc. The companies merged in 1968, moved operations to Denver, Colorado, and adopted the Tele-Communications name. TCI went public in 1970 and expanded through cable-system acquisitions, becoming the largest cable operator in the United States by 1982 under CEO John Malone. Bob Magness, a founder and longtime chairman, remained influential in the company. TCI acquired United Artists’ remaining cable interests in 1991 and bought cable assets from Viacom in 1995. A proposed merger with Bell Atlantic, discussed in 1993 and 1994, did not proceed. In 1997, TCI merged with Kearns-Tribune Corp. On March 9, 1999, AT&T completed its acquisition of TCI, which became AT&T Broadband and Internet Services. Comcast acquired the remainder of TCI’s cable television systems in 2002. Cable assets from the AT&T transaction were also later acquired in select markets by Charter Communications, Cox Communications, Cablevision, and Comcast.

This cuffed beanie carries a lived-in street energy—soft, warm, and quietly bold. The low-profile embroidery sits on the cuff like a personal insignia: a small, slightly distressed logo with a touch of red that reads as both vintage and current. It slips on easily and stays put through commutes, late-night walks, and chilly market runs, adding a subtle graphic edge without shouting.
Wear it with a worn denim jacket, layered knit, or an oversized coat. It works for creatives who like to curate a look that’s casual but considered, for city cyclists who need dependable warmth, or for anyone who favors compact, tactile details. The hypoallergenic acrylic knit keeps things comfortable against the skin while the 12" cuff gives you styling flexibility—fold it high for warmth or roll it low for a slouchier silhouette. This is a small, everyday piece that quietly completes an outfit and ages into its own personality.
