ThinkGeek opened its first retail store at The Florida Mall in Orlando on September 25, 2015, then expanded with additional U.S. and international stores in 2016. In June 2019, the company announced the closure of its standalone online store and the integration of its e-commerce operations into a curated selection on GameStop's online operations. The brand is now owned by Geeknet, a GameStop subsidiary.
