Product Details & Size Guide

GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.

The Trump Shuttle story is a snapshot of ambition and change in northeastern aviation. After acquiring the Eastern shuttle, the company launched its own service in June 1989, connecting LaGuardia, Boston Logan, and Washington National while promoting a more luxurious take on frequent business travel. Recession, fuel costs, and debt later brought a transfer of control, and the Trump Shuttle name ended in 1992. This quarter-zip sweatshirt honors that compact history for airline enthusiasts and collectors of corporate identities.

Trump Shuttle grew from the Eastern Air Lines Shuttle, a profitable northeastern service that Eastern organized for sale as its finances weakened. Donald Trump agreed to buy it in October 1988 for $365 million; the deal, including 17 Boeing 727s and facilities in New York, Boston, and Washington, was approved in May 1989 and completed in June. Service under the Trump Shuttle name began June 8, 1989, with hourly flights from LaGuardia to Boston Logan and Washington National, plus charter flights. Trump repositioned the no-frills service as a luxury airline, with refurbished interiors, complimentary food and drinks, and prominent branding. Recession, rising fuel costs, falling travel demand, and debt left the company unprofitable. It defaulted in September 1990, and negotiations to transfer control followed. USAir agreed in December 1991 to take operational control. On April 7, 1992, Trump Shuttle ceased to exist when it merged into Shuttle, Inc.; the service began operating as USAir Shuttle on April 12. US Airways later bought Shuttle, Inc., and the service subsequently became US Airways Shuttle. After US Airways merged with American Airlines in October 2015, it operated as American Airlines Shuttle.
