GhostCorp Apparel - resurrecting iconic corporate ghosts.
Make room for a notable airline story on your travels with this TUI fly Deutschland travel mug. Formed in 2007 from two predecessor carriers, the company charted a changing course through new route arrangements, a callsign change to TUIJET and a shift from yellow to blue branding. These milestones give the design special meaning for German aviation enthusiasts and TUI collectors. Carry it on a commute, road trip or airport day, or share it with someone who enjoys airline history.
TUI fly Deutschland, legally TUIfly GmbH, is a German leisure airline owned by the travel and tourism company TUI Group. Headquartered at Hannover Airport, it was formed in 2007 through the merger of Hapag-Lloyd Flug and Hapag-Lloyd Express as part of TUI Travel. It initially retained predecessor airline codes and the callsigns YELLOWCAB and HAPAG LLOYD; the callsign changed to TUIJET on 24 September 2010. A proposed 2008 combination with Eurowings and Germanwings did not proceed. In 2009, a strategic partnership with Air Berlin reshaped route responsibilities: Air Berlin took over domestic services and flights to Austria, Italy and Croatia, while TUI fly focused on charter operations. The airline replaced its yellow livery with blue in December 2013, and the first aircraft in the new design arrived in Hannover in February 2014. In 2016, the titles were shortened from TUIfly to TUI. Later changes included relocating services from Zweibrücken to Saarbrücken, leaving Hamburg by March 2016, and closing the Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden base in 2018. After plans for a leisure-airline joint venture ended in 2017, the company continued as part of TUI Group’s airline unit. In December 2020, it announced a substantial reduction in operations and aircraft.
