Headquartered at Hannover Airport, it was formed in 2007 through the merger of Hapag-Lloyd Flug and Hapag-Lloyd Express as part of TUI Travel. After plans for a leisure-airline joint venture ended in 2017, the company continued as part of TUI Group’s airline unit.
